Alluring & Ancient Islands of Greece

Set sail to 3 of Greece’s most picturesque islands — Poros, Hydra and Aegina — from historic Athens on this Platinum DreamTrip.

About Your Trip

The epic story of Athens — the birthplace of democracy — is evident everywhere you look, and you’re sure to discover magic on this Platinum DreamTrip to the Grecian capital. Begin your journey with a warm welcome reception at your hotel, where you can meet and mingle your fellow DreamTrippers.

The next day, get ready for an adventure on the Aegean Sea with a full-day cruise through the Saronic Islands. You’ll journey to Poros, an affluent enclave with a vibrant entertainment district. Sail on to Hydra to visit national historic monuments surrounded by old-world charm. Finally, see the sights on the island of Aegina before returning to Athens for ample leisure time to relax at your hotel and explore the city’s historical attractions.

On your final evening, share memories — and beautiful views — with your fellow DreamTrippers as you dine in style at your hotel’s rooftop restaurant.

What we love:
• Athens was named after the goddess of wisdom and courage, Athena. It’s the birthplace of Plato and, in the past, children were expected to learn to play the lyre and study the works of Homer.
• Despite the beautiful Clock Tower of Poros showing otherwise, it feels as though time has stood still on this beautiful island. Stroll along the cobblestoned lanes and visit historic sites, including the Temple of Poseidon, erected around 500 B.C., as well as numerous historical museums.
• You can’t miss the architecture and art on Hydra. The island is home to more than 300 churches, 6 monasteries, the Byzantine Museum and more, providing ample opportunity for worship or for viewing creative work that spans the centuries.

Destination

With more than 4,000 years of monumental history under its belt, Athens is a city with a heritage few can match. Relics from its world-shaping era as ancient Greece’s greatest city-state include the Acropolis (a UNESCO World Heritage site) and the extensive collections in the National Archaeological Museum. Modern-day Athens continues to wield influence as one of Europe’s biggest capitals. Millions of visitors are drawn yearly to Athens by its ancient architecture, commanding artifacts and fascinating mythology. Energetic nightlife is also a major attraction, as are the cuisine and culture. No trip to Athens is complete without a special outing devoted to tasting kebabs, gyros, souvlaki and savory spanakopita.
